Daystar Rising

An adventure with God, Daystar Rising is the story of an American missionary couple, Don and Faye Smith, and how they were led by Him step-by-step to the creation of Daystar University, Equatorial Africa’s first evangelical liberal arts university. Written by Faye with narration by Lorry Lutz, this story captures the joy and sorrows of experiencing Africans turning to Christ, the viciousness of Apartheid, the loss of a first child, sharing the challenges and thinking of African life, and serving with them, especially in publishing a popular multinational magazine. That was followed by a wide publishing and teaching ministry across Africa, and India. Ultimately, it led to Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya, now under African leadership with over 5,000 students. This is a must read for students and practitioners of African ministries and churches supporting education and training ministries in any culture.
