Get Involved

The time is right for a Christian performing arts and missions training centre.  It would ideally include the following, as becomes a community endeavour:

  • A 400-seat inside stage with backstage rooms
  • A smaller “black box” adaptable performance space, possibly even  outside
  • A café for discussions before and after performances and throughout the week
  • An art gallery
  • Media studios
  • Music studios
  • Offices
  •  Rehearsal rooms
  • Dance studio
  • Costume and set building space and storage
  • Classrooms/lecture hall
  • Rooms for out-of-town students and guests
  • Resident staff housing
  • Resource room and library

What You Can Do To Help

Capital Development

Raising funds to purchase or lease a performing arts centre, and purchase needed equipment for the work.

Purchase Option:

Purchasing an appropriate space could be anywhere from KES 2 billion to 17 billion for an easily accessible place within the city of Nairobi.

Rental Option:

Commercial space rents for KES 100-250 per sq ft.  For 3000 square foot space, the average would be KES 450,000/month.

Renovation and equipping of space for performance, office, and meetings:

Some things to consider are a minimum of $50,000 to add stage, backstage, seats, and lighting grid and $200,000 to add sound and lighting systems

Ongoing staff support

To help the ministry grow and stabilise.

  • $5000/month for staff (janitor, receptionist, office worker, administrator, accountant, coordinator)
  • $1000/month for office costs (phone, copies, etc.)

Sponsorship Funds

For students wanting to train at the CUI Centres.

Sponsorship

For individual shows and projects throughout the year.

Ways to Participate

Become a Guardian Angel

Contribute monthly any amount to help us operate throughout the year.  Your name will be listed in the programme of each event throughout the year.  You can upgrade your ticket purchase to VIP/reserved seating where applicable.  You will receive early notice of upcoming shows, prayer requests, and opportunities to participate in other activities throughout the year.  Additional benefits can be added depending on the level of monthly giving.

Gift-in-Kind

This could be through the provision of free advertising on your channels, the provision of snacks and/or drinks for the cast during rehearsals and performance days, donation of equipment, and providing drinks and snacks for sale (or as a gift!) to the audience, etc.

Volunteer

Volunteer to help in the office, in productions such as backstage or front of house, in fundraising, or marketing.  Offer your expertise in lighting, sound, stage management, costumes, set design, etc.  Become a prayer partner.
